A gastroenterologist also sometimes simply called a GI doctor is a physician with dedicated training and management of diseases in the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Gastroenterology is the study of the function of the stomach, small intestine, esophagus, gallbladder and liver.

Our GI surgeons on staff regularly perform endoscopies to screen and diagnose problems with the digestive system. A number of other outpatient surgeries are performed by our team of physicians at Mackinaw Surgery Center including laparoscopic gallbladder removal and laparoscopic hernia repair.
