Podiatry is a branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions. Podiatric surgery is the surgical treatment of conditions affecting the foot, ankle and related lower extremity structures.
A podiatrist is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and more commonly known as a podiatric physician or surgeon, who manage and treat conditions affecting the lower extremities. At Mackinaw Surgery Center our podiatrists are board-certified in foot and ankle surgeries. Our skilled physicians provide outpatient treatment and surgery for a number of foot problems including outpatient bunionectomy.
